Respect the voice of the people — Bishop of Balanga – Manila Bulletin
The Bishop of Balanga, Ruperto C. Santos has called on the Filipino faithful to accept and respect the voice of the people in the recent national and local elections.
The Bishop urged everyone to put aside differences and unite for the common good.
Santos, who also serves as the regional representative of the Philippine-Central Luzon Catholic Bishops’ Conference, said after the elections, Filipino voters must accept and respect the voice or choices of the majority.
“Voting is our constitutional right. It is our sovereign duty. Let us exercise it freely, in all conscience and for a better and more radiant future. Once the collective will of our people is known, let us accept it and respect the voice of our people. After the elections, let us put aside divisions, work together and collaborate for the common good,” the head of the Church said on Radio Veritas.
Santos expressed his gratitude to all PPCRV volunteers in Balanga Diocese for their patience and hard work in ensuring a smooth and orderly election.
