Pasig LGU converts modular vaccination tent into COVID-19 referral center – Manila bulletin
The Pasig City local government announced on Wednesday January 5 that one of its vaccination sites will be converted to a COVID-19 referral center due to the growing number of COVID-19 cases.
On its official Facebook page, the Local Government Unit (LGU) said that the modular tent at the Pasig City Children’s Hospital – Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Pasig (PCCH-PLP) previously used as a vaccination site will become now a COVID-19 reference center.
He added that people who are about to be vaccinated with PCCH-PLP can go to Pasig City General Hospital for their inoculation.
The mayor of the city of Pasig, Vico Sotto, also expressed his concern over the COVID-19 situation in the country after counting 40,000 active cases, of which 456 were from the city.
Sotto said the 456 active cases in Pasig is a huge jump from the previous 50 recorded before the start of the new year.
He also described some of the preparations by the city’s Beat Covid-19 task force to tackle Pasig’s COVID-19 outbreak:
– The reopening of the COVID Referral Center ER Extension (RHS) and;
– Hiring / renewal of emergency health personnel for hospitals and contact tracing.
Sotto urged his constituents to always adhere to minimum public health and safety protocols and to get vaccinated against the coronavirus.
As of January 4, Pasig City had recorded 57,981 recoveries and 1,470 deaths.
