Olive Garden’s world-class dining experience now in Manila
Numerous movies, series and even social media sketches are all about the beloved Olive Garden restaurant. Aside from the unlimited breadsticks and family experience, many Filipinos know little about the restaurant and its flavor profile. That changes on September 12, Monday, with the opening of the first olive garden in the Philippines.
The restaurant brought all of its signature menu classics, including chicken alfredo, lasagna and chicken parmigiana, for Filipino diners to try. Every dish, from appetizer to entree to dessert, sports American-Italian flavors. Their world famous breadsticks also adorn each table and come with a three flavor dip, alfredo, marinara and five cheeses, which customers can choose from.
Since Olive Garden has a familiar style that encourages people to share good food and company, many of their dishes are for sharing. One of the restaurant’s starters, lasagna fritta, is one of the dishes that diners can share with their group.
In the meantime, diners can enjoy main courses, such as chicken and shrimp carbonara, scampi with shrimp, etc., with endless soup or house salad.
For dessert, diners can taste Italy with the restaurant’s warm Italian donuts, also known as Zeppoli, served with a thick chocolate sauce. It also offers cheesecakes to satisfy the sweet tooth.
Apart from food, Olive Garden also offers a variety of refreshing drinks and cocktails to quench the thirst of their guests. Many of its drinks are combinations of different flavors that make diners feel like they’re lounging in the Italian countryside. It also has a bar area to meet the needs of solo drinkers who want a quiet drink.
The Bistro Group, one of the most progressive restaurant chains in the Philippines, is responsible for bringing Olive Garden to the local restaurant scene. Jean Paul Manuud, President of The Bistro Group, said that Olive Garden and The Bistro Group share the same values and the same culinary philosophy.
“We are thrilled to partner with The Bistro Group to grow Olive Garden by opening its first restaurant in the Philippines. We know that the Bistro Group’s deep experience in the restaurant industry will help us successfully serve our customers in the Philippines,” said Bradley Smith, Senior Vice President of Franchising at Darden Restaurants.
Olive Garden is the largest American-Italian restaurant chain in the United States, where it operates more than 900 restaurants and employs more than 96,000 people.
The recently opened restaurant in the Philippines occupies 382 m². with a capacity of 300 seats and an outdoor dining area. It has a rustic vibe that adds to diners’ experience as they browse Olive Garden’s hearty menu. A stone passageway welcomes guests to interiors accented with warm elements, olive green accents, earthy tones and natural textures reminiscent of the Italian countryside.
Filipino cuisine lovers can now satisfy their cravings for the famous American-Italian restaurant they hear so much about in pop culture. With its casual dining experience and beloved cuisine, Olive Garden is shaping up to be the next culinary destination.
