Miss World PH Tracy Maureen Perez on her way to Puerto Rico – Manila Newsletter
A beauty queen with a sad and touching story of being orphaned as a young girl prepares to represent the Philippines in the Miss World 2021 Grand Finals scheduled for in San Juan, Puerto Rico on December 16.
Cebuana researcher Tracy Maureen Perez leaves tomorrow (November 20) for the Caribbean island where she hopes to replicate the feat achieved by Megan Young, the only Filipina to be crowned Miss World in 2013.
It’s not easy to represent the whole country in a famous international competition like Miss World. But I always remember that he’s taller than me. My journey to winning the crown has never been easy and I always love inspiring other girls to believe in the power of dreams. Even if you come from nothing, you will still have something if you work hard enough for it, âTracy Maureen or Mau said at her pre-departure press conference at the Kingsford Hotel in Manila.
Growing up, Mau did not have a father or siblings. She was brought up only by her mother Chona who was a beauty queen herself. But things got worse when Chona passed away and Mau was left with nothing at the age of 17. She was only able to complete her industrial engineering degree because kind-hearted parents came together to pay her tuition fees at the University of San Carlos. in Cebu City.
This is the reason why Mau’s advocacy as a beauty queen includes improving the plight of single parents and providing access for the less fortunate to a high quality education.
Going to Puerto Rico is by far the longest trip Mau will take in her life. Previously, she had been able to travel to Bali and Hong Kong as prizes for previous beauty pageants she had entered. Representing the Philippines in a faraway land for Miss World means how far Mau has come to pursue her dream.
In Puerto Rico, Miss World Beach Beauty returns after a five-year hiatus. Tracy Maureen Perez said she makes all the preparations to stand out in the swimwear competition and is not considered a novice, having won Miss Bench Body in Ms World Philippines.
The objective is of course to arrive in the Top 5 of the competition. Being the strong woman that she is, Mau relies on no one other than herself for the positivity and confidence-building she so badly needs. “I open myself to all the beautiful things that will happen to me when I join Miss World,” she concluded.
