Israel to share startup and tech best practices with PH

MANILA – The Israeli government is in close partnership with the Philippines to strengthen ties in technology and innovation, with the aim of helping the country’s technological ecosystem to develop.

In a forum hosted by the Israeli Philippine Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday, Ambassador Ilan Fluss introduced Israel as a start-up nation that continues to help more than 6,000 businesses thrive even during the pandemic.

“We’re looking at all kinds of opportunities, but (we also want to) share best practices and the Israeli approach to help this ecosystem grow. We are therefore in contact with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and other Philippine government organizations. ” he said.

“We have Israeli trade and economic representation here in the Philippines and one of its tasks is to bring together Philippine and Israeli businesses. We focus on Israeli technology and innovation and bring it to the Philippines, ”he added.

Inbal Arieli, serial entrepreneur and business executive, said Israel’s technological innovation landscape is now “very diverse”, spanning a multitude of areas such as food security, water supply solutions, cybersecurity and financial technology, among others.

“Last year there was over $ 10 billion in venture capital investments in Israeli startups. In 2021, the first three quarters, it was $ 17 billion, ”she said.

“This has been the case for the past decade. The Israeli tech ecosystem continues to grow in all different elements, including funding year on year,” she added. (ANP)
