DENR Distributes 415 Land Titles in Northern Mindanao – Manila Bulletin
At least 415 people in northern Mindanao have received new land titles under the government’s program to help poor families.
The program was implemented by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), through its “Handog Titulo” programme.
DENR Secretary Jim O. Sampulna said original certificates of title (OCTs) had been distributed to 200 beneficiaries in Bukidnon, 10 in Camiguin, 20 in Lanao del Norte, 35 in Misamis Occidental and 150 in Misamis Oriental.
“More than just security of tenure to landowners, I encourage all farmland patent holders to make their land productive. Make it a tool to improve the quality of your life and that of your children,” Sampulna said.
He said beneficiaries should protect their patents against any form of damage and destruction such as fire, rain or loss.
The distribution of land titles on May 6 was among 4,000 free patents that were to be distributed in northern Mindanao before the end of 2022.
In addition to agricultural free patents, the distribution also includes residential and special free patents.
