Davao inmates now fully vaxed
DAVAO CITY: Over 2,000 people deprived of their liberty (PDL) from the city’s three prisons received their full vaccination on Saturday, November 20.
Through a mobile vaccination deployment led by the Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) of Advisor Pamela Librado’s office, they were able to vaccinate over 95% of the PDLs in three detention centers here that are now fully vaccinated.
According to Librado, only a few inmates were postponed to receive the vaccine due to medical conditions, but the rest had already received full doses.
Among those vaccinated were not only the PDLs but also the staff of the Bureau of Prison Management and Penology and their dependents.
The SP initiated immunization deployments, under the direction and direction of the city health office in city detention centers, has now contributed to the high immunization rate among IDPs.
Librado said PDL should not be excluded from the vaccination campaign.
“Lapil gyud nato ning mga PDLs or mga detained nato his vaccination kay apil sab sila in the vulnerable sector tungod sa kahimtang nila in atong mga detention centers,” she stressed.
Librado, is also committed to continuing to conduct various immunization deployments, targeting various groups and communities.
She said these vaccination deployments should also include a massive vaccine education initiative.
