Bear Brand to sell 5,000 Tibay chairs for Filipino students nationwide – Manila Bulletin

Bear Brand will sell 5,000 Tibay chairs for Filipino students nationwide

As the country prepares for the return of face-to-face classes after two years of virtual and hybrid setup, Bear Brand is doubling down on its commitment to building generations of Batang Matiba by strengthening its support for children’s education. Through the brand Tibayanihan Project, a total of 5,000 Tibay chairs made from recycled Bear Brand packs will be given to schools in 12 cities across the country in 2022.

Following Bear Brand’s six-year partnership with the Department of Education (DepEd), the brand joined the national launch of the Brigada Eskwela program at Imus Pilot Elementary School where the Tibay chairs have been returned. Brigada Eskwela, which aims to prepare for the return of Filipino children to school, was launched this year on the theme of Tugon in Hamon ng Ligtas na Balik-Aral. The first batch of 1,500 Tibay chairs to be handed over as part of the Brigada Eskwela kick-off will be distributed to public schools in CALABARZON, Benguet and Baguio.

Tibay chairs recycled from single-use plastic bags.

Since the launch of Bear Brand’s Tibay Chairs program in 2016, DepEd has received and distributed over 12,000 benches and chairs to 131 public schools.

“Knowing that having sufficient equipment is one of the key factors for a conducive environment for learning, the brand saw an opportunity to accompany school children with tibay chairs for a better learning experience. Sharing this goal with DepEd, we were able to identify and extend help to these places. Through Tibay chairs, we not only aim to help students excel, but also, by producing these chairs using recycled plastic bags, we are contributing to Nestlé’s global commitment to achieve net zero emissions. by 2050,” said Russell Lipchin, BEO Dairy Health and Nutrition Solutions.
