Bangsamoro fishermen receive 80 new boats

COTABATO CITY: Fishermen’s cooperatives in Maguindanao and Cotabato City on Thursday received 80 new fishing boats under the Tabang project, or Tulong Alay sa Bangsamorong Nangangailangan program from the Bangsamoro chief minister’s office.

The boats are equipped with a motor, a fishing net, a line and a hook. They are worth 85,000 pesos each.

Tabang Project Manager Tomanda Antok led the graduation ceremony at Barangay Kalanganan 2 of this city. “It is the response and commitment of our Chief Minister Ahod Ebrahim to bring the government closer to the Bangsamoro people,” Antok said.

One of the beneficiaries, Abubakar Inabay, 44, said he could earn a maximum of 2,000 pesos a day when the harvest volume was high.

Inabay, who resides in Mother Kabuntalan, Maguindanao, is the secretary of the Moro Land Farmers and Fishermen Association.
