Angeles City Hall worker arrested for fake vaccination cards – Reuters

ANGELES CITY, Pampanga (PNA) – A city hall worker has been arrested for allegedly issuing fake vaccination cards to 13 people.

The fake vaccination cards contained the forged signatures and license numbers of the city’s Covid-19 vaccinators.

“It is an insult to the dedication and hard work of our vaccinators who prioritize the safety of our ‘kababayans’ (fellow townspeople). Ikinalulungkot ko po na nangyari ito (I am saddened that this happened),” Mayor Carmelo Lazatin Jr. said here in a statement Wednesday, August 24.

Lazatin issued a stern warning to other employees and asked them to follow the guidelines set by the government.

In a complaint filed by an authorized staff coder at the Angeles City Government’s Covid-19 Database Center, the suspect was identified as 21-year-old Janine Lising, assigned to the Office of Environment and Human Resources. natural resources of the city and resident of Barangay Malabanias here.

The complaint was filed in front of Angeles City Police Department Station 3 where the suspect is currently being held.

In the in-custody report signed by the investigator, Police Corporal Aaron Joe Lingat, it is stated that Lising was arrested and is now being temporarily detained at the station for the crime of falsifying public documents.

The plaintiff, Patrick Dimal, said the allegedly falsified vaccination records of the 13 individuals were found in the possession of the suspect.

Dimal also said in his complaint affidavit that when he learned there were vaccination cards with fake signatures and license numbers allegedly produced by Lising, he immediately reported to authorities.

Dimal said he also coordinated with the vaccinators whose signatures and license numbers were used in the vaccination cards – Glenda Aromin and Anna Unika Marieya Cabigting.

Aromin and Cabigting checked and said the signatures were not theirs, after comparing their signatures on a blank sheet of paper with what was written on the alleged fake vaccination cards.

Dimal also sent a letter to Station 3, mentioning the names of people Lising allegedly gave fake vaccination records to.

“This is to inform your good office that the following individuals have been issued by Janine Lising with false vaccination cards and there is no record of their vaccination at the Angeles City Covid database center”, indicates the letter.

The fake vaccination cards were confiscated by the city’s Office of Gender and Development.
