Alicia Reyes, former head of Pagcor, 88

MANILA, Philippines — Alicia Reyes, former president and CEO of Philippine Amusement Gaming Corp. (Pagcor), died at the age of 88.

Pagcor said Monday that Reyes died Feb. 26.

Reyes led the agency from 1986 — when she was appointed by President Cory Aquino — until 2001, when she also served under the administrations of former Presidents Fidel Ramos and Joseph Estrada.

“Under Reyes’ leadership, PAGCOR began its rise as the third revenue-generating arm of government. The agency has become the source of much-needed funds for the recovery of the Philippine economy,” Pagcor said in a social media post.
